Arsenal fans SAVAGE Mesut Ozil for Chelsea display – ‘I think Mkhitaryan has done more’

The Gunners were hammered 4-1 by the Blues and face playing in the competition against next season as a result.

Arsenal were the better team in the first 30 minutes but couldn’t capitalise on their dominance.

Chelsea took the lead four minutes into the second half through former Gunners striker Olivier Giroud.

Pedro and Eden Hazard quickly made it 3-0 before Arsenal substitute Alex Iwobi scored a stunning volley to pull one back.

But Hazard scored a second to make it 4-1 and wrap the game up for Chelsea.

That led to Unai Emery removing Mesut Ozil from proceedings and bringing on youngster Joe Willock.

And fans took to social media to slam the German for his performance in such a crucial match for their side.

One tweeted: “I think Mkhitaryan has done more than Ozil this first half.”

Another said: “Ozil’s absolutely finished.”

“Ozil is an absolute waste of space,” a third explained.

A fourth said: “Chelsea have Eden Hazard, a player who has been creating something out of nothing all half.

“Arsenal have Mesut Ozil, a player who has been creating nothing out of something all half.”

The result means Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri finished third in the Premier League but won his first trophy at Stamford Bridge.

Having said that the Blues manager could still leave the club this summer.

The final was an odd affair with empty seats everywhere in the stands because of the strange decision by UEFA to stage the event in Baku.

It meant both teams had just 6,000 tickets with many of then not taken up.
