Arsenal staff have been urged to “keep perspective”, according to a leaked email supposedly sent by managing director Vinai Venkatesham and Raul Sanllehi after their Europa League final defeat.
The Gunners are facing a huge summer as they look to regroup and rebuild after a miserable end to the season which saw them finish outside of the Premier League top four and miss a second chance to secure Champions League football.
They will now have to work with a modest budget as Unai Emery strives to refresh his squad and get them back into European football’s elite competition next year.
But club staff have been told they need to stick together after a “painful and disappointing night” in Baku.
“I know we are all hurting right now, after a painful and disappointing night,” arseblog claim the email reads.
“We all know that getting our great football club back to where it needs to be won’t be easy, with plenty of highs and lows along the way, and today was one of those lows.
“Let’s keep some perspective. It is a tough moment right now but we have much to be positive about when reflecting on this transitional season and looking forward to the next.
“To achieve our ambition we need to BE TOGETHER in both the good moments and the bad and we know we have the people across our club to do that.
“And finally, a HUGE thank you to you all for your commitment and hard work across what has been a very demanding season.
“Let’s recharge our batteries over the summer and we will go again hard next season. There are special moments and more finals ahead.
“Let’s keep our heads held high; WE ARE THE ARSENAL.”
Unai Emery took to social media on Thursday to declare himself “proud” after his first season in charge as he also urged the club to regroup ahead of next season.
Emery wrote: “Not easy to find the words to describe how we feel today, but here is an important one: Proud… of our team, our club, our fans, of the huge effort of all of us since day 1.
“Proud to be part of the Arsenal family. Today we start building next season’s Arsenal. Forward together!”
