Army Deploys Videogames to Reach Recruits Amid Pandemic – The Wall Street Journal

Army recruiters, unable to head to high schools and set up booths at state fairs because of the coronavirus, are turning to videogame tournaments to reach prospective soldiers.

The Army is tapping into the expertise of a squad of soldiers whose unusual full-time job is to compete in online gaming. The recruiters help organize large online tournaments where Army gamers meet prospective soldiers while avoiding face-to-face gatherings.
