Ariana Grande is said to be ‘unbothered’ by Pete Davidson seemingly shading her and making comments about her ‘painting her skin brown’.

The comedian notably made a dig at his ex during his standup set on his Netflix special Alive From New York, referring to her August 2019 interview with Vogue magazine, in which she hailed their romance as ‘a distraction’ and being ‘frivolous and fun and insane and highly unrealistic’.

In response, Pete said: ‘My career would be over tomorrow if I spray-painted myself brown and hopped on the cover of Vogue magazine and just started s****ing on my ex.’

But Ariana is reportedly ‘not paying attention’ to what he has to say, according to a source from Hollywood Life.

‘Ariana is unbothered by Pete’s jokes, she’s really not paying attention,’ the source said. ‘She is working on new music so she could easily slip something into a song but as of now it’s not really impacting her so it’s not likely it will make it into her music.

‘Right now she’s in a really good headspace and really isn’t interested in any kind of negativity. She’s enjoying life and focusing on all the great stuff in her life.’

A further source told the publication that Ari is ‘taking the high road on everything Pete has said’ as she understands that he is ‘just doing his job’.

It comes after Pete previously revealed that he knew his relationship with the singer ‘was over’ when her ex-boyfriend Mac Miller died in September 2018 at the age of 26.

The Saturday Night star had opened up about his engagement to Ariana, which lasted between June and October 2018, and how watching her grieve for her ex-partner had affected him.

‘I totally got it,’ he said during a chat with Charlamagne Tha God. ‘I totally got it. She would even tell you this. I was like, “Listen, I get it, do whatever you’ve got to do, I’ll be here”.

‘I think I said, “I’ll be here until you don’t want me to be here.” I pretty much knew it was around over after that.

‘That was really horrible, and I can’t imagine what that s**t is like.

‘All I do know is that she really loved the s**t out of him, and she wasn’t putting on a show or anything. That was f**ked up. Prayers to his family and all of his friends.’
