Argos is selling a firepit for £30 and it’s cheaper than Aldi’s and The Range

ARGOS is selling a firepit just in time for summer, and it’s cheaper than versions Aldi and The Range are selling.

The La Hacienda steel firepit is only £30 to buy from Argos compared to Aldi’s cheapest one, which costs £60, and a £43 one from The Range.

Argos’ firepit is made from 100% durable black steel and its bowl shape is easily portable, which is ideal if you take it to a pal’s back garden.

It has a black, high temperature paint finish and comes with a matching black metal stand and you’ll get a metal tool included too, to utilise when you’re burning the fire.

The firepit sits at approximately 23cm off the ground and it weighs around 2.4kg, plus it has already received over 100 five-star reviews online.

But thanks to June’s heatwave, garden furniture is flying off shelves so you won’t want to hang around.

How to compare prices to get the best deal

JUST because something is on offer, or is part of a sale, it doesn’t mean it’s always a good deal.

There are plenty of comparison websites out there that’ll check prices for you – so don’t be left paying more than you have to.

Most of them work by comparing the prices across hundreds of retailers.

Here are some that we recommend:

  • Google Shopping is a tool that lets users search for and compare prices for products across the web. Simply type in keywords, or a product number, to bring up search results.
  • Price Spy logs the history of how much something costs from over 3,000 different retailers, including Argos, Amazon, eBay and the supermarkets. Once you select an individual product you can quickly compare which stores have the best price and which have it in stock.
  • Idealo is another website that lets you compare prices between retailers. All shoppers need to do is search for the item they need and the website will rank them from the cheapest to the most expensive one.
  • CamelCamelCamel only works on goods being sold on Amazon. To use it, type in the URL of the product you want to check the price of.

If you are ordering it online you’ll have to factor in the extra £6.95 delivery fee that’ll come on top of the price too.

But if you want to save on that extra charge, you could use Argos’ free click and collect service or head to one of the retailer’s stores or in-Sainsbury’s branches to check out the deal instead.

You can type your postcode into Argos’ store finder to locate your closest and find out whether the firepit is in-stock as well.

The Sun checked five different postcodes and found that most locations were already sold out though, like at Manchester Arndale for example, but you can pick it up at the Tottenham Court Road Argos or Holborn Argos.

The next cheapest option you’ll find in comparison, is at The Range, where its three-in-one grill firepit is £13 more expensive.

The firepit is also made from a solid and durable steel material which is able to withstand rust and heat.

But the extra cost does mean it comes with a few more perks than Argos’, as it includes a mesh safety lid, cooking net, and ash pan to prevent burning ashes from blowing over and spreading across your garden.

Plus the firepit has a multi-use element with its included grill plate as it doubles up as a mini BBQ.

You can get free delivery from The Range though, so overall it’ll only cost you £6 more than Argos’ including delivery.

You can buy a firepit from Aldi for £60

You can also buy a firepit from Aldi that’s designed to look like it has a large stone base, but it’s almost double the price of Argos’ at £59.99.

It is a lot bigger in size compared to Argos’ one too, as it measures at around 70cm in height and weighs 15kg.

Aldi’s firepit is currently sold-out though, plus there’s an extra £6.95 delivery cost which you’ll have to take into account when it’s restocked.

That means overall Aldi’s firepit is nearly £37 more expensive than the one Argos is selling.

In comparison, you can buy a fire-basket from Homebase for £35, but it’s not the same kind of design as the firepits.

It’s only £5 more expensive than Argos’ firepit and there’s plenty more of the product available in stock, but it does come in a different, and less enclosed style to the firepits on offer.

If you don’t fancy an old-fashioned fire in your back yard, then we have a list of the best patio heaters, including gas, electric and infrared styles you can check out instead.

Then, if you’re looking for more garden inspiration, here are all the latest releases from Aldi’s specialbuy section including a barrel BBQ and a pizza oven.

Plus the store is also launching a new two-seater version of its popular sold-out hanging egg chair next month and it will only be £250 to buy.
