Will Brian McFadden be part of the Westlife reunion?

Sources say that Simon Cowell was only interested in a reunion if Brian McFadden was involved.

In April 2018, Brian told how the four other former members of Westlife were offered a cash deal worth €10million each from Cowell to revert to their original line-up.

But the deal collapsed when one member pulled out, refusing to be part of the band with Brian – who left the group in 2004.

He told The Sun: “I was offered a big multi-million pound deal. It was the other boys in Westlife who said ‘no’. They didn’t want me back.

“How does that make me feel? It makes me pretty upset because I didn’t realise they still had those feelings towards me.”

Brian had a successful solo career and made several TV appearances – From 2010-2013 he was a judge on Australia’s Got Talent and in 2016 he appeared on Channel 4’s The Jump.

When did Westlife split?

Teen hearts broke up and down the nation when the Irish lads parted ways for good in 2012.

The group formed in 1998 and was originally made up of Brian McFadden, Nicky Byrne, Kian Egan, Mark Feehily and Shane Filan.

But back in 2004, Brian decided to quit the band and pursue a solo career, leaving Westlife to continue as a four-piece.

In their official statement, they said:” …Over the years Westlife has become so much more to us than just a band. Westlife are a family.

“…We never imagined when we started out in 1998 that 14 years later we would still be recording, touring and having hits together. It has been a dream come true for all of us.”
