Apparently Brits love role playing in the bedroom so keep that Halloween costume for later

If you’re dressing as something sexy this Halloween, it’s worth keeping the outfit.

Ahead of the ghoulish holiday, luxury sex toy company Lelo has revealed that Brits love dressing up in the bedroom – though you might want to skip the Jason mask and focus more on traditional roles that involve uniforms and figures of authority.

According to the survey, 84% of the 2,000 participants admitted that they turn to role playing when they want to spice things up.

The fascination with pretending to be someone else was partly due to the build-up, with 28% saying they make their own costumes, but also because it allowed them to live out their fantasies.

However, if you’re considering introducing this into your sex life for the first time, make sure to chat to your partner beforehand and settle on a theme.

This was especially important for a third of the participants, so don’t spring your teacher-pupil scenarios on someone without making sure they’re comfortable with it.

Stock up on some fancy sex toys, too, as 90% revealed they used some form of toy when role playing.

Others watch role playing porn to get themselves going (50%) and there’s plenty to choose from.

A quick search on Pornhub reveals fantasy scenarios that feature adults as fire fighters, medical professionals, law enforcement officers and even a man who is pretending to be a wedding planner and subsequently shags the bride.

‘If you lack inspiration you can always search the Internet, or just discuss with your partner what turns them on,’ said Kate Moyle, Lelo’s resident sex therapist.

‘If you’ve talked to your partner and you both agreed to test out a specific fantasy, the shared experience of pretending to be someone else is actually very likely to bring you closer together.’

Foreplay also ranked very highly on the list with 35% saying it was the ‘most important thing’ in their sex lives, and more than half (58%) will indulge in it during special occasions.

So, if you don’t fancy heading out for a spooky party on 31 October, why not invite your lover for a private Halloween session?

You could tell each other what you’d like the other person to dress up as (favourite movie character, perhaps?) or if this all feels like a lot of effort, just wrap yourself in a sheet and pretend to be a ghost.
