‘I got the jacket off and I was like “Oh yes, the jacket’s off. Oh my gosh I can relax now!” Apollo said.

‘And I look over and my arm’s still on fire. So, definitely added a bit more urgency to the escape from there!’

Apollo was suspended upside down in a straitjacket above a bed of flaming spikes, for the escape stunt.

Whether Apollo successfully managed to pull off the escape act by himself is not known ahead of the AGT season premiere.

Despite the stunt almost going wrong, Apollo said that he still wants to be a full-time entertainer.

‘Magic’s not something I’m doing full time right now and I’d love to take it to the next level!’ Apollo said.

Apollo, whose real name is Jake Spence, rose to fame when he ‘magically’ produced a rose out of flames for Sophie Monk on The Bachelorette in 2017.

The magician is currently dating Love Island star Edyn ‘Mac’ Mackney.

The reality star couple first revealed their relationship in January, but they have been dating since December.

Apollo will return to screens on Australia’s Got Talent on Chanel Seven at 7pm on Sunday.
