Apocalypse SOLVED? How archaeologist 'uncovered true identity of Devil’ after Bible find

The apocalypse is said to be a future destructive end-time scenario proposed in the Bible before the return of Jesus Christ. Described in the Book of Revelation, the final book of the New Testament, the apocalypse details the apparent final destruction of the world before the second coming. In Christian teaching, the Antichrist, also known as the Devil, is described as someone who will fulfill the biblical prophecy of opposing Christ himself on that day.

In chapter 13, the Number of the Beast – 666 – is described as an antagonistic creature that appears briefly about two-thirds into the apocalyptic vision.

Since then, 666 has become one of the most widely recognised symbols of the Devil and is used to invoke Satan.

However, the numerical value may have a secret hidden meaning, revealing the true identity of the Devil, it has been claimed.

Kim Haines-Eitzen, a professor of ancient religion with a speciality in Christianity, revealed during Morgan Freeman’s Netflix series “The Story of God” what she uncovered.

She said in 2017: “I’ve been looking at some fragments of the Book of Revelation – it’s a prophetic book, it’s got loads of symbolism, but it’s also very much a political book.

“It is making a political claim about the cause of evil, or who is responsible for evil.

“There’s been a lot of debate about what this number, in particular 666, refers to.

“There is a strong argument to be made for 666 referring to Nero – the emperor of Rome from 54 to 68AD.

“When you apply numerical values to the name Kaiser Neron and you add them up, you come to 666.”

Ms Haines-Eitzen revealed how other versions of the Book of Revelation refer to the Devil as 616.

However, she revealed how this actually helped prove her theory.

She added: “One of the interesting things about these fragments is that we’ve got two different numbers.

“A chi is 600, xii is 60 and sigma is six.

“But this one over here we have chi iota sigma – 616 – so you might think that this number destroys the possibility that it could be Nero.

“What is striking about this is that it may help to confirm the identity of Nero because this is the number you get if you spell Nero the Latin way – Nero Keiser.”
