Apex Legends Season 3 UPDATE: New Legends surprise with Crypto news?

Apex Legends Season 3 has a release date set for October 1, 2019, on PS4, Xbox One and PC.

And developers Respawn Entertainment has been pretty forthcoming in what will be included in the big update.

We now know for sure that the new character Crypto will be made available on October 1, as part of the Season 3 launch.

There have been plenty of leaks connected to this new Legends characters, so it won’t have come as much of a surprise to fans.

We also know a lot about what other plans Respawn has cooking for next week.

This includes adding the new Charge Rifle and launching Ranked Season 2 as part of the same patch.

Over 100 exclusive items including Legendary skins and Apex Packs, will also be released as part of the new Season 3 Battle Pass.

“At the start of Series 2 everyone will be soft reset on their ranked position, and the scoring system will be updated,” a message from Respawn explains.

“The reset will be 1.5 Tiers down for all players. That means if you ended Series 1 in Gold II, you’ll be reset to Silver IV.

“Players in Platinum IV will be reset to Silver II, and Apex Predators will be reset to Platinum II.

“This means that players will need less time to climb to their true skill ranking, and will have more time to compete at their actual skill level and try to climb higher than before.

“The Series 1 scoring system worked well, but we want to make some improvements. Here’s what we’re trying to accomplish, and how the new system works.

“First off, we need a bit more granularity in the point spread, so we’re 10x’ing all the points in the whole system. At first glance, this may just look like point inflation, but in reality, we need to be able to reward something in between 1 RP and 2 RP, so going to 10, 15, 20 RP gives us that flexibility. We’re also updating the match entry RP costs slightly.”

But while we know much about what is coming, some fans believe that Respawn has surprises planned.

This could include a new map, something that would undoubtedly bring back lapsed Apex fans.

This is based on a few hints that have been shared by the team and the idea that something much bigger will be announced on September 27.

So far, Respawn has not mentioned anything connected to a new map launch and so fans will need to take these rumours with a big pinch of salt.

Here’s more on the message that getting out of King’s Canyon is a real possibility:

“I took down the Repulsor tower. I had no idea it would be so insane. I’m hoping the damage was enough to close Kings Canyon, so I can hitch a ride on the dropship off Solace, and find the evidence I need somewhere in New Dawn.”

“I just hope I see you one last time, and I don’t get blown up before I go off-planet.

“(Sorry. Paranoia leads to gallows humour.) Thank you for always being the mom I needed. I’ll be in touch. Try not to worry much. What’s that you always say? It’s hard to be scared when you’re prepared.”
