Antoine Griezmann transfer: Barcelona star ‘very disappointed’ in Atletico Madrid’s ‘attitude’ after disputing fee

Antoine Griezmann is “very disappointed” by Atletico Madrid’s “attitude” as his former club dispute the transfer fee paid by Barcelona for the French forward.

Griezmann completed a £107m (€120m) move to the Nou Camp this week, signing a five-year deal.

Yet Atletico are adamant they are due another £72m (€80m), which would take the price up to £179m (€200m), due to Barcelona’s alleged premature negotiations before the release clause dropped on July 1.

And his lawyer, Sevan Karian, has revealed Griezmann is upset at the way Atletico have handled the move.

“Antoine is very disappointed with the attitude shown by Atletico and the club’s hierarchy,” he told L’Equipe.

“They are acting in bad faith and are communicating the opposite of what they told him in person.

“But let them do as they see fit, we will do the same if necessary. For the moment, for [Griezmann], he only wants to think about this new chapter in his career.

“He wants to celebrate this weekend by discovering his new home.”

Griezmann could yet take the No 7 shirt at the Nou Camp if the club can sell Philippe Coutinho, who has struggled to settle since his move from Liverpool.
