Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be able to call on Scott McTominay for tonight’s clash against Tottenham at Old Trafford.

The Scot has been sidelined for close to a month with an ankle issue but he arrived with the rest of the squad at the Lowry Hotel this afternoon as the Red Devils prepare for tonight’s game at the Theatre of Dreams.

The 22-year-old has become a first team regular this season but was first handed an opportunity under Jose Mourinho, who returns to the club tonight for the first time since he was sacked last December.

McTominay’s return will be a huge boost for United, who missed the Scot’s dynamism in their 2-2 draw against Aston Villa on Sunday.

Solskjaer had hoped to have Paul Pogba fit for tonight’s game but there was no sign of the Frenchman arriving at the hotel, while Anthony Martial was also absent. However, the forward resides close to the accommodation and may have made his way there separately.

There was no sign of Nemanja Matic, despite the Serbian’s return to training around a week ago.

The midfielder hasn’t featured for the club since October and is believed to be keen on leaving in January.

Manchester United squad to face Tottenham: De Gea, Romero, Grant, Young, Lindelof, Williams, Wan-Bissaka, Tuanzebe, Maguire, Shaw, McTominay, Fred, Mata, Pereira, Garner, James, Lingard, Greenwood, Rashford
