The pair had to present separately inside their homes for last night’s finale due to the coronavirus lockdown, making it a first for the show.
As the show came on air, Ant was horrified to see that Declan was dressed a lot more formally than he was, wearing a suit jacket and white shirt.
Ant was seen sitting on the sofa in a blue jumper, jogging bottoms and brightly coloured socks as he shared his disbelief at his presenting partner.
He exclaimed: “I thought you said no to the suit!”
Ant later added: “Does a tracksuit count as a suit?”
Dec confirmed it didn’t, so Ant went to get changed and appeared after the ad break looking a lot sharper.
Sitting down on the sofa, he said: “There you go, suited and booted.”
Dec replied: “Better, are you made up?”
Ant said: “I think I’m happy considering the circumstances.”
Dec hit back: “No, no, no – make up. You could take a bit of shine off your forehead.”
The pair filmed their last live show last weekend without a studio audience, and confirmed that it would be the last live show of the series.
Saturday Night Takeaway was thrown into chaos by the coronavirus pandemic, which also stopped their grand final in Disney World Florida.
After the show last week, the show tweeted a photo of Ant and Dec with Olly Murs, Bradley Walsh, Joel Dommet, Andi Peters and Stephen Mulhern in the empty studio.
They tweeted: “Thank you all for joining us tonight! Sadly that was our final live show of the series. We hope it sparked some joy when we all need it most.
“We’ll be back next week with something a bit different. Stay safe everyone!”
