ANT McPartlin is set for a court battle over his divorce from estranged wife Lisa Armstrong.
According to a report in the Mail on Sunday I’m A Celebrity presenter Ant’s settlement offer was rejected by his Strictly make-up artist ex despite it reportedly being worth more than half their £62m fortune.
The newspaper claims Lisa rejected the offer because she wants to “have her day in court” and is not concerned with the money.
Lawyers for each party are said to be preparing for a High Court battle for next year which could mean details of their marriage are made public.
A source told the publication: “Ant has been very generous in terms of the financial settlement but Lisa is totally the opposite of someone who is motivated by money.
“She doesn’t care about that – she earns her own. But she has been so hurt by all of this.
“What the general public and his fans don’t realise is that Ant’s decision to end the marriage came after years of Lisa trying to save him from himself.
“There were at least three years when she was at her wits’ end and it was tough. Watching him move on was very, very difficult. Lisa is very much aware that a judge may not award her as much as Ant is offering but she doesn’t care.
“She has suffered tremendously in all of this and she wants her day in court.”
Last week The Sun revealed how Lisa was refusing to sign a Non Disclosure Agreement over their marriage and the battle had already cost legal fees of more than a million.
They must also come to an agreement over custody of their beloved five-year-old chocolate Labrador, Hurley, who spends alternate weekends with the former couple.
Lisa is currently living in the £6 million former marital home in Chiswick.
Ant has since moved into a £6million home in nearby Wimbledon with lover and former personal assistant Anne-Marie Corbett, 43, and her two children.
They split in January last year, five months after Ant left rehab for a two-year addiction to painkillers and a battle with booze.
In April 2018, Ant was banned from the roads for 20 months and fined £86,000 for drink-driving after his Mini hit two cars in Richmond. He returned to rehab for further treatment and said he would take a break from TV presenting.
Lisa divorced Ant and was granted a decree nisi in October last year on the grounds of his adultery with Anne-Marie.
He admitted it only on the basis that he didn’t begin a relationship with her until after his marriage split.
