Ant and Dec will sit in the ‘wrong order’ at BAFTA TV Awards – and fans aren’t happy

Ant and Dec will be seated as Dec and Ant at the BAFTA TV Awards, and the Geordie duo’s fans are less than impressed.

The awards body gave TV fans a sneak preview of the seating chart for the star-studded awards bash yesterday when they tweeted a photo of empty seats marked with photos of celebrity guests.

Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly’s faces appear in the second row of the auditorium, but fans were confused to see Donnelly sat on the left and McPartlin on the right, upsetting their usual order.

“Why are Dec and Ant in the wrong chairs. It should be Ant and Dec!” one disgruntled Twitter user replied to BAFTA’s tweet, as others demanded that they “swap Ant and Dec’s spaces.”

“I can see Ant and Dec wait I mean Dec and Ant,” another fan added. “BAFTA u need to switch them around.”

“Ant and Dec need swapping around!” another comment read.

The presenting partners are up for two Entertainment gongs for Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway and Britain’s Got Talent, despite Donnelly presenting the remaining episodes of the ITV favourites alone after McPartlin announced his return to rehab.

Piers Morgan was also left annoyed by the seating chart ahead of Sunday’s celebrations, as he took issue with his allocated spot.

The controversial presenter, who has been seated in the fourth row alongside Good Morning Britain co-host Susanna Reid, voiced his displeasure on Twitter, telling BAFTA: “I’d better be nearer the front than that…”

The film institution’s official account then joked that Morgan would have to “sit where [he’s] told, prompting him to reply with: “You clearly haven’t worked with me before.”
