Ant and Dec reunite to ‘wreck the mic’ at autobiography audiobook recording

One of Britain’s best-loved TV double acts has reunited after months of being kept apart during lockdown.

Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly are used to spending all of their working hours together, but recent weeks have seen the pair separately spending lockdown with their families.

However, the duo have reunited (with social distancing measures in place, of course) to record their audiobook.

A sweet video posted on their joint Instagram accounts shows the pair making their way into the recording studio.

They then lark about while preparing for the sessions, before heading into the studio to do their bit.

Ant and Dec’s book, Once Upon A Tyne, will be released in early September.

The memoir chronicles the duo’s 30 years in the TV industry with the title paying homage to their home city.

The blurb teases: “Told through the lens of every TV show they’ve made, as well as everything they’ve learnt along the way, this is the riotously funny journey of two ordinary lads from Newcastle who went on to achieve extraordinary things.”

Ant and Dec’s lockdown got off to a bizarre start as the pair were midway through a series of Saturday Night Takeaway.

In late March, an episode with no studio audience aired for the first time in the programme’s 18-year history.

Instead of concluding with a bumper edition filmed in Florida, the series ended with a best bits compilation show featuring new footage of the presenters in their homes.

Once Upon A Tyne is out on Thursday, September 3.
