Ant and Dec made a return as PJ and Duncan to perform their classic hit Let’s Get Ready To Rhumble in a throwback clip shown on tonight’s Saturday Night Takeaway final.

The final edition of this year’s series of the popular variety show was presented by both Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly from their own homes as they both self-isolate during the coronavirus pandemic, with the two showcasing some of their favourite moments from the series over the past few years.

To close this year’s series off with the End Of The Show Show segment, the duo took us back to 2013, when they made an appearance on the show as PJ and Duncan to perform Let’s Get Ready To Rhumble, which was first released back in 1994.

And what a performance it was – with the two giving it all they’ve got, showcasing some epic dance moves and getting the audience on their feet, it certainly is one of Saturday Night Takeaway’s most memorable moments.

Moreover, the song actually ended up hitting number one on the UK Singles Chart for one week following the performance – nine years after it was first released as a single, with all royalties from sales of the song donated to charity ChildLine.

Fans of the show were delighted to see the iconic performance back on our screens once again, with one tweeting: ‘I can’t believe it was 7 years ago that Ant and Dec brought back PJ and Duncan, seems like it was only a couple of years ago @antanddec!’

‘Omg I will always love let’s get ready to rhumble,’ another excited fan wrote. ‘Even more every time Ant and Dec redo it.

‘Had this stuck in my head today too.’

‘Just love PJ and Duncan Let’s get ready to rumble @itvtakeaway brings back happy memories from the original and again thanks Ant & Dec x,’ another tweet read.

As well as PJ and Duncan, The End Of The Show Show segment also saw performances from late 90s and early 2000s pop groups Five, Blue and Atomic Kitten.

Now we really feel like we’ve stepped into a time machine.

Ant And Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway is available to stream on ITV Hub.
