Anna Camp reveals how she contracted COVID-19 after failing to wear a mask just ONE TIME


Anna Camp is opening up about contracting the COVID-19 virus, revealing she got it after failing to wear a face mask just one time.

The 37-year-old Pitch Perfect star took to Instagram on Tuesday, sharing a new selfie of her wearing a pink face mask, while opening up about how she got it to her 1.1 million followers.

She also confirmed that she has, ‘since tested negative’ for the virus, but she was, ‘extremely sick for over three weeks and still have lingering symptoms.’

‘Hi friends… I felt it was my responsibility to share that I ended up getting Covid-19,’ the actress began.

‘I was incredibly safe. I wore a mask. I used hand sanitizer. One time, when the world was starting to open up, I decided to forgo wearing my mask. One. Time. And I ended up getting it, Camp revealed.

She went on to describe her experience in contracting the COVID-19 virus, shooting down any comparisons that have been made to the flu.

‘People are saying it’s like having the flu, but I’ve had the flu, and this is absolutely not that,’ Camp clarified.  

‘The panic of contracting a virus that is basically untreatable and is so new that no one knows the long term irreparable damage it does to your immune system is unbelievably stressful,’ she added.

One of the most well-known symptoms of contracting COVID-19 is losing your sense of taste and smell, with the actress adding, ‘Completely losing my sense of smell and taste without knowing when or even if they will return is extremely disorienting.’

She added that her sense of smell is at, ‘about 30 percent’ now, after recovering from the virus.

Camp also said that other ‘persistent symptoms’ that have lingered in the month that she has been recovering include, ‘dizziness, extreme fatigue, impacted sinuses, upset stomach, nausea, vomiting, and fever.’

‘I’m lucky. Because I didn’t die. But people are. Please wear ur mask. It can happen any time. And it can happen to anyone. Even that one time you feel safe,’ she pleaded.

‘We can all make a difference. Wearing a mask is saving lives. Thank you to everyone who reached out to check on me during this scary time,’ Camp added.

She asked her fans to ‘be safe’ and to ‘do our part and wear a mask, adding, ‘I don’t want any of you to go through what I did.’ 

‘Even though it’s a little thing, it can have a huge impact, and it’s so incredibly easy to do,’ she concluded with a heart emoji.
