Andy Lee joins Channel Seven’s The Front Bar – after selling his True Story TV format to American broadcaster NBC

Channel Seven has announced that Andy Lee will be joining AFL talk show, The Front Bar.

According to TV Blackbox, the comedian 38, will host comedy segments throughout the football season and will also occasionally join the panel as a guest.

The Front Bar confirmed the news on Saturday with a hilarious video on their official Instagram page.

In the footage, co-hosts Andrew Maher, Mick Molloy and Sam Pang are pictured in a room deciding on their new co-star. 

Andy is then pictured as the voice-over says: ‘Channel Seven’s The Front Bar have selected Andy Lee.’

The announcement comes after Andy and his co-star Hamish Blake inked a deal with US broadcaster NBC to have their hit show True Story with Hamish & Andy adapted for American audiences.

The American adaptation will see Ed Helms and Randall Park take on the hosting roles once held by Hamish and Andy.

NBC’s new version of True Story will see actors reenact wacky true stories told by everyday Americans.

‘I can’t wait to bring True Story to American audiences with my buddy, Randall Park,’ said Ed of the upcoming six-episode series.

Randall added: ‘I’m so excited to be a part of a show that combines three of my favorite things: great stories from real people, my pal Ed Helms and couches.

Ed and Randall have previously worked together on an episode of The Office in 2012.
