Looking every inch the style maven, the award-winning actress slipped into a black midi number, which was embellished with a dazzling netted bodice and a tulle skirt.

The Happy-Go-Lucky star injected a hint of pazzazz into her appearance with a pair of black studded heels by Christian Louboutin.

With her peroxide blonde tresses styled into a chic updo, Andrea complemented her porcelain complexion with dewy foundation and velvet pink lipstick.

Adapted from the book by Roberto Saviano, the upcoming eight-part series – set to premiere next year – follows the fight for control over the cocaine trade between the Americas to Europe.

Andrea has teamed up with the likes of Dane DeHaan and Gabriel Byrne in the series, which Amazon is selling in the US and Spain, and StudioCanal is selling internationally.

The 76th Venice Film Festival – held between August 28 – September 7 – sees a highly-anticipated lineup compete for the coveted Golden Lion award, with many big Hollywood pictures making their premiere at the annual showcase.

Hirokazu Kore-eda – who won the Palm d’Or at Cannes for his 2018 film Shoplifters – opened the festival with his latest picture The Truth.

Leading the so-called Hollywood contenders is the much-anticipated Joker, directed by The Hangover’s Todd Phillips, and sees the acclaimed Joaquin Phoenix play the iconic DC villain in a realistic take on his origin story.

Set in the 1980s, the film has already sparked awards buzz for Phoenix’s performance, as the film tells the story of Arthur Fleck, a man so down on his luck he becomes a murderous psychopath hellbent on causing havoc in Gotham.

Another film boosted by Hollywood star power is Ad Astra, which stars Brad Pitt as an astronaut who journeys into space to find his lost father, played by Tommy Lee Jones.

The film is directed by James Gray, who has competed for the Palm d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival on several occasions, including his 2013 film The Immigrant.

The festival has also courted controversy by opting to screen the latest work from director Roman Polanski, who fled the US after facing historical sexual abuse charges, and has been expelled by the Oscars Academy.
