Ander Herrera’s tweet about wishing Man Utd fans were at PSG game backfires as furious supporters slam him for ‘diving’

MANCHESTER UNITED fans blasted former star Ander Herrera for diving after the Paris Saint-Germain tweeted he wished there were fans at Wednesday’s clash.

The Spanish midfielder’s post backfired spectacularly as supporters were incensed at his theatrics that saw Fred shown a second yellow card in the second half.

It was a winning return at the Theatre of Dreams for Herrera – who left to join PSG in 2019 – as Les Parisiens ran out 3-1 winners.

The 29-year-old came on as a substitute in the second period, and made an instant impact after he drew a foul from his ex-team-mate.

And his antics didn’t sit well with fans after Herrera took to social media following the match.

He tweeted: “It has been so special to come back to Manchester, so many great memories in this stadium.

“I wish this moment could have been with the fans I shared 5 years with.”

Not happy with his actions, one fan replied: “But you had to dive on that Fred tackle like he had pinned ur (sic) leg down. Not too good at all against a team you said its special to you.”

Another messaged: “Your show was great since you are learning very well from the great actor Neymar!”

A third added: “Hope you are alright after that challenge from Fred fella you looked in so much pain.

“Those 8 rolls on the floor really had me concerned.”

Meanwhile one simply stated: “Hollywood acting that tonight fella.”

However there were some supporters that were happy to see him back, as one user posted: “You coming on changed the game against us tonight.

“Yet again we know what we lost. You gave your best here and we will always love you.”

Another wrote: “We love you Ander.”

Herrera’s former boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was also left disappointed with the Spaniard following Fred’s tackle on him.

He said: “The second yellow card was nowhere near a foul.

“Ander [Herrera] knows that. He definitely knows.”
