Alien: Covenant actress Amy Seimetz has accused her ex-boyfriend, director Shane Carruth, of domestic violence.
The 38-year-old actress was granted a temporary restraining order against Carruth, according to PEOPLE, after accusing him of being abusive during their relationship, which ended in 2018.
Seimetz claims that the abuse has continued years after their split.

In the court documents obtained by PEOPLE, the Pet Sematary star claims the abuse started after the couple got engaged in 2013 when Carruth, 48, became ‘possessive and extremely jealous’ and had ‘fits of rage and angry outbursts that led to him becoming emotionally, mentally and physically abusive toward me.’
Seimetz claims she tried to leave the relationship multiple times over the four years prior to their split.
‘When I would leave Mr. Carruth, he would inundate me with emails and text messages pleading for me to get back together with him.
‘In these communications, Mr. Carruth led me to believe that he was in a state of despair and possibly suicidal. These manipulative communications caused me to feel a sense of responsibility to return to the relationship.’

Concerning: Amy says she is still being harassed by the actor and accuses him of sending her a text message in March saying, ‘You deserve pain for eternity. You deserve death. You are a monster. You are a ball of white-hot nothing and you need to be killed.’
She documents one incident in 2016 where Carruth locked her out of her hotel room after she’d gone to dinner with some coworkers while working on a movie in New York City.
Once he let her back in the room, Seimetz claims Carruth was ‘out of control’ and calling her ‘a whore and using other profanities while following me around the hotel room.’
Seimetz says she laid on the bed to take a call from her mother, and claims Carruth then ‘threw my cell phone across the room, breaking it’ and ‘then jumped on top of me and began strangling me with his hands.’
‘I feared that Mr. Carruth would kill me and tried to tell Mr. Carruth to stop,’ she said in her filing. ‘As I began struggling to breathe, Mr. Carruth finally stopped strangling me.’
The Girlfriend Experience star claims the abuse continued for years in the form of abusive and harassing text messages and emails that were ‘belittling and repulsive.’

She claims she is still being harassed by the South Carolina born actor and accuses him of sending her a text message in March saying, ‘You deserve pain for eternity. You deserve death. You are a monster. You are a ball of white-hot nothing and you need to be killed.’
The Florida native said in her filing that Carruth’s recent attempts to contact her have caused her ‘extreme anxiety and emotional distress,’ leaving her ‘terrified for my safety.’
Carruth responded to Seimetz’ filing, telling PEOPLE: ‘I’ll tell the story eventually, not because I want to because I don’t, but I am pressed now.’

Some of his followers reacted angrily to the post, accusing the actor of showing it on purpose and trying to intimidate his former partner.
