Amy leaves Love Island: Reality star’s dad ‘couldn’t watch her on show’ after heartbreak over Curtis Pritchard

Love Island star Amy Hart’s father reportedly found it “too painful” to watch her on TV following her split from Curtis Pritchard.

Reports yesterday suggested that 26-year-old Amy had decided to leave the villa after Curtis ended their relationship last week.

A source told The Sun that her father Ian found it “concerning to watch” her emotional tumult and decided to switch off.

“He can’t bear to read all the upsetting opinions on the internet about her,” the source claimed, adding that he “refuses to watch the show.”

“Any father would find this sort of thing very tough to watch while powerless to intervene,” they concluded.

Speaking on This Morning last week after Curtis tried to pursue a romance with fellow islander Jourdan Raine, Amy’s parents said that they had been “fast-forwarding Curtis talking to Jourdan.”

“The hardest bits to watch have been the last couple of days,” her mother Sue admitted.

It is thought that the flight attendant’s exit will be shown in tonight’s episode of the ITV2 dating contest.

“It was Amy’s decision to walk away as she felt she had got as much as she could from the experience,” a source told The Sun yesterday.

“She fell in love, had her heart broken and couldn’t stand the thought of seeing Curtis crack on with Maura.

“Producers at ITV felt she was emotionally sound enough to make her own decision. They would never dream of keeping someone in there if they weren’t happy about it.”

The source added that Amy had been given therapy and support by producers at ITV. A spokesman for ITV did not comment on reports at this stage.

Last night’s episode of Love Island saw Jourdan and partner Danny Williams dumped from the island after coming last in a public vote.
