Amir Khan has visited Kashmir to call for peace.

The British boxer, 32, stood in solidarity with the people of Kashmir after the Indian government revoked the special status of the Pakistani capital.

He told reporters: ‘My heart beats with the people of [occupied] Kashmir who are living under siege. I condemn India’s actions. People are being killed and tortured here.

‘I will continue to be the voice of Kashmiris against the brutalities of Indian [occupation]. I will tell people back in Britain about the situation here.’

On 5 August, New Delhi scrapped Article 370 to strip Kashmir of its autonomous status –which includes the disputed Jammu and Kashmir – and turned the former state into two Union Territories.

The 32-year-old met with the families affected and promised to help with funds from the Amir Khan Foundation.

Not only is the boxer using his foundation to help, but he also called for celebrities worldwide to share their support of Kashmiris.

The former light-welterweight world champion announced his visit to Pakistan three days after he and his wife Faryal Makhdoom announced the pregnancy of their third child with a gender reveal video.

The couple, who share daughters Lamaisah, five and Alayna, one, together – told their viewers: ‘We’re having out third child, and we’re so excited and nervous at the same time. He or she, what will baby Khan be?’

Kitted out with a boxing glove,  Amir continued: ‘I’m going to punch the balloon to see what the gender is,’ before giving it a huge whack.

Right on cue, blue confetti came pouring out, with the I’m A Celebrity star celebrating: ‘Oh wow, it’s a boy! It’s a boy!’

Amir and Faryal began dating eight years ago, announcing their engagement back in 2012.

The pair tied the knot in an extravagant ceremony at New York’s Waldorf Astoria the next year, with around 1,000 guests thought to be in attendance.
