The rising country star – who finished third place in 2018 behind Maddie Poppe and Caleb Lee Hutchinson – told the publication she’s ‘very excited’ that ‘the Lord has blessed us with a little one, and we’re really excited to finally be able to share the news’.

Cade, 24, shared in the excitement, captioning his Instagram post announcing the pregnancy, ‘I have the most amazing Wife in the world.

‘I can’t possibly come up with strong enough words to honor her as she has honored me in giving me a baby girl!’

The couple also said that they found out about their impending bundle of joy back in May.

‘We were in Texas visiting Cade’s side of his family,’ Gabby remembered.

‘And it’s funny, because I did not think that I was. Around lunchtime, I remember taking the test and my eyes nearly crossed! I was like, ‘Wait, is that two lines?’

‘I came running out to Cade and was just like, ‘Oh my gosh, I think I am.’ That’s all that I said, and he knew what that meant. I started crying, and it was very sweet,’ she concluded.

Cade has been excited to become a dad, captioning a selfie of the couple a few weeks ago with: 'Isn’t she just the prettiest little thang! What a privilege to share life with you my Wife! May our Lord grant us long years together and a boat load of babies to baptize!'

The pair are of course excited for the future, with the I Hope songstress saying she’s looking forward to having ‘a family rodeo in a tour bus’.

‘It’s always been a dream to take our family out on the road and be able to do the job that we love, surrounded by family and having them experience everything,’ Barrett said.

And about having a baby girl, the father-to-be couldn’t be more thrilled.

‘I get to have two Gabbys!’ Foehner remarked. ‘One’s not enough.’

Gabby, due early next year, has also identified the challenges inherent in being pregnant during an ongoing pandemic.

‘It’s been ‘hallenging in a way of it not being normally how it goes,’ she reflected.

‘I have to go to some appointments, unfortunately, without my husband, which is really sad. But I mean, if that’s what keeps the baby safe, then that’s what we’re going to do. We’ve just been trying to find ways to really work with it, because that’s all we can do at this point.’

The pair – who met on the ABC reboot of American Idol in 2018 and both made it into the top five – were married in October of last year in Garrison, Texas, in front of 100 people.
