Amber Gill admits she lied on her Love Island VT 'to sound more interesting'

Love Island ‘s Amber Gill has shocked fans by cheekily revealing that she told a big fat porkie on her introduction video tape for the 2019 series of the reality dating show.

The former beauty therapist, 21, revealed to her Instagram following on Wednesday that she told the “full-on lie” about “never being rejected” to “sound more interesting”.

It was while giving fans her view on the new set of Islanders, that she dropped the previously unshared bit of information.

She said: “As far as my opinions go on the islanders, it is hard to say because I don’t want to form an opinion yet because I was saying all sorts of madness in my VT. So I wouldn’t want anyone to judge me for that – even though that is what it’s there for.”

Then revealing her lie, she continued: “But I am sure I said ‘I have never been rejected’… or something like that, which was a full-on lie but I wanted to sound interesting.”

The TV personality then changed her mind and seemed to backtrack by saying: “Well not a lie but I’ve never been rejected because I’ve never made the first move loool.”

The Geordie star has reportedly earned more than £1 million since leaving Love Island

Despite the fib, Amber went on to win the show along with Irishman Greg O’Shea, with both splitting the £50,000 cash prize.

In the first few weeks of the show, she was previously coupled up with Firefighter Michael Griffiths who dumped her when he went to Casa Amor and returned to the main villa with Joanna Chimonides.

After Joanna was voted off the show Michael tried to win Amber back but she turned him down.
