Pop a note in your diary so you know when to cancel and save the £7.99 a month it will otherwise cost when membership kicks in.

Use a cashback hack. Many people still aren’t aware you can claim cashback even when an item is in a sale.
Get ten per cent off jewellery and watches bought through Amazon today via topcashback.co.uk. You can also get £10 cashback when taking out a three-month Sky Cinema Pass with Now TV via the cashback website, making three months’ membership only £13.99.
Check the price history. Knowing how much an item you want has increased or decreased in price over the past month can help you see if you really are getting a good deal.
Price-tracking website camelcamelcamel.com keeps tabs on Amazon, while I like pricespy.co.uk for advice about white goods and pricehistory.co.uk.
Shop around. Some stores will compete for your attention today.
While eBay has already had a big sales weekend, its Currys PC World store has a Lenovo laptop for £349, down from £449, and a Samsung Gear Fit2 Pro half-price at £109.
