Amanda Holden may have won some awards in her time, however she can say now safely say she has the best bum in the biz as she was awarded the ‘rear of the year’ this week.

Yes, that’s apparently an actual competition.

Britain’s Got Talent’s Amanda beat the likes of Holly Willoughby, Rachel Riley, the Duchess Of Sussex Meghan Markle and Carol Vorderman for the crown.

Or rather, the seat.

After the interest Vorders’ behind has been getting as of late we really expected her to take this year’s trophy.

However, Amanda’s got the golden buzzer for 2019. What a time to be alive.

This competition isn’t just for the ladies, though, with the lads having their chance to rule the stool.

Tennis champ Andy Murray won for the men, with judges favouring ‘quality rather than quantity’.

He was up against Harry Styles, Aiden Turner, Idris Elba and Jamie Dornan. A really pert group, this lot.

Rear Of The Year organiser Tony Edwards said of Amanda’s win: ‘She has a particularly shapely, well-toned and, above all, proportionate and understated rear – in contrast to the somewhat exaggerated, fake, cosmetic look for bottoms, recently imported from the USA.’

Not naming any names there Tony, classy.

He added of the two winners: ‘Amanda and Andy’s celebrity rears represent perfect examples of today’s toned and firm gluteus maximus – with quality rather than quantity as the essential fashion keynote.

‘Biggest is rarely best when it comes to bottoms.’

Can we please remind you that we’re not making this up.

According to organisers, 12,000 people had nothing better to do as they cast their votes online between August 2018 and July 2019.

Seems Amanda’s fans were really in her corner as they voted for her to win.

Tony added: ‘Vegetarian Amanda obviously enjoys the support of an active fan base which seems to be regularly focused on her pert posterior, ensuring that she topped the voting for 2019.’

According to Tony, Andy’s recent Wimbledon stint may have reminded everyone of his athletic prowess in the rear department.

He noted: ‘Andy […] who took the title from Poldark star Aiden Turner is clearly one of Britain’s most popular athletes and his well-toned physique seems to command an army of fans, particularly around Wimbledon tennis fortnight.’

Who needs the Oscars when you’ve got the ruddy rear of the year!
