Amanda Holden’s rollercoaster week, what with her feud with Phillip Schofield, has ended on a high as she’s been confirmed as guest host of Sky One’s A League Of Their Own.

The Sky One sports show’s usual host, James Corden, will require stand-ins to cover him as he is unavailable for filming due to Late Late Show commitments in the USA as well as the Gavin and Stacey Christmas special.

Amanda will be one of a number of stand-ins who will also include sports presenter Clare Balding and comedians David Walliams, Romesh Ranganathan and Jack Whitehall.

The positive end to the week comes as Amanda’s spat with Schofe continues to spiral after claims he cost her a guest presenting role on This Morning while Holly Willoughby was in Australia for I’m A Celebrity last year.

Amanda was said to have been informally told she had the job before it was withdrawn at the last minute thanks to Phil allegedly ‘throwing a spanner in the works’ and stopping her getting it.

The Britain’s Got Talent panellist threw shots at Phil during her radio show, saying three things she wouldn’t want to find in her house would be ‘spiders, flies and Phillip Schofield’.

Phillip hit back on Twitter, writing: ‘The end of another really sad weekend. When you try for 35 years to be the easiest, most fun person to work with and you read such hurtful and wildly untrue stories from nameless “sources”.

‘Obviously I’ll take it on the chin… I just hope you know me better.’

A League Of Their Own will air on Sky One and NOW TV later this year.
