Amanda Holden: ‘What was I thinking?’ BGT star's pal hints she regrets changing appearance

Britain’s Got Talent: The Champions judge Simon Cowell, 59, said he and Amanda Holden, 48, look back at their appearances over the years and laugh at their overuse of botox.

In a recent interview, the music mogul joked he liked looking back at “the botox years”.

Speaking to The Mirror, he said: “All of us are like, ‘Christ, we had a lot that year.

“Not so much that year… maybe a bit too much that year.’ You know, the old clips of us are hysterical.

“Amanda’s always like, ‘What was I thinking?’ I said, ‘Well, I don’t look a lot better.’”

Comparing his previous look to his current appearance, he added: “I look all right now, but certain years it was like, ‘Wow,’ I don’t know what was going on’.”

Amanda has openly spoken about having botox done in the past, but stopped after the traumatic birth of her daughter Hollie, now seven.

Back in 2012, she said on This Morning: “I’ve not gone under the knife or had any injections.

“Since spending too much time in intensive care after nearly losing a baby, I’ve not gone under the knife or had any injections.”

Amanda first said she had used botox when she filmed for Wild At Heart back in 2007.

In 2009, she told The Mirror: “I was constantly frowning in the sun. I noticed crow’s feet coming and that’s when I had it.”

The talent show judge has since said she relies on non-invasive anti-ageing treatments to keep her skin in check.

“I swear by a fortnightly collagen wave facial, where radio frequency and ultrasound waves heat up my skin to encourage it to produce new collagen,” she told the publication in 2014.

“I’m a fan of various creams and potions too.”

Amanda added she also drinks a lot of water, but added her good skin could be down to “genetics”.

Elsewhere, the television star is currently judging Britain’s Got Talent: The Champions alongside Simon, Alesha Dixon, 40, and David Williams, 48.

In a recent admission, Amanda Holden said she feared Alesha going into labour early due to a dangerous act this series.

Alesha is expecting her second child with long-term partner Azuka Ononye.

Tonight, Canadian illusionist Darcy Oakes returns to the stage for an explosive performance.

At one point in his dangerous act, the fearless star hovers over the stage in a box, which later explodes as part of a trick.

Recalling Alesha’s reaction to Darcy, she told The Sun: “I joked to her that I was worried she might go into labour as she was so on edge during the performance.”

She added: “I’m a witch, I sense these things and I said, ‘You’ve got to be careful. I reckon it’s going to come two or three weeks early’.”

Britain’s Got Talent: The Champions continues tonight at 8.15pm on ITV.
