This morning on Heart Breakfast, Amanda, 49, talked about Britain’s Got Talent being postponed due to Coronavirus saying: “it’s for the best” and “would suffer quite badly from not having a proper audience” but the auditions are “coming and they are better than ever”.

Speaking with colleague and Pussycat Dolls member Ashley Roberts, the judge said: “Well, yeah, we got the call over the weekend and I think it’s for the best.

“I mean I think that Ant and Dec did an amazing job of Takeaway on Saturday but I’m not sure our show, I think our show would suffer quite badly from not having a proper audience.

The judge added: “I’m hoping we can still strip it, strip means we sort of do it every single day like we used to or we might end up doing it over the weekends but it’s all still in the running but I definitely think it’s for the best.”

She also revealed when the show could return to screens: “So yes we have heard it’s the Autumn. I would say I would say it might be later than September but it’s quite a competitive time of year as well so.”

It was reported yesterday that Britain’s Got Talent has postponed its live shows due to the coronavirus crisis – but ITV will still air the audition rounds.

The spread of deadly Covid-19 has forced show bosses to act as the virus continues to wreak havoc on the entertainment industry.

The auditions were filmed across the country in January and February.

In a statement last week, ITV revealed: “The Britain’s Got Talent audition shows are due to be broadcast in the next few weeks as planned.

“We are also working with our production colleagues to see how we can make the BGT live shows work in an ever-changing situation and we will update on this in due course,” it concluded.
