Amanda Holden: Heart DJ seen for first time in plaster after nasty accident


Amanda Holden, 48, took to Instagram this morning to give fans an update on her injury after breaking her leg during a family vacation.

The Heart FM presenter and television star posted a picture on the social media site, showing the full extent of her injury.

In the image, which was shared with her 1.2 million followers, the popular media personality can be seen giving the thumbs down as she reclines on a sun lounger with her leg in plaster.

She captioned the snap: “Heart Break fast! #leg”.

Fans rushed to the comments section of the snap to send the injured star get well messages.

One user wrote: “Get well soon Amanda. Need you back on the radio. It’s not the same without you. Especially, Jamie and Amanda’s wake up and win. Wishing you a speedy recovery.”

Another added: “Nooooooo, get well soon Amanda, I hope the sunshine is easing any pain there, warmest hugs xx.”(sic)

Amanda was on a half term holiday with her husband, Chris Hughes, and two children, Alexa, 13, and Hollie, seven, when the incident occurred.

The Britain’s Got Talent judge broke her leg in two places whilst playing on an inflatable assault course.

According to the Sun, she underwent emergency surgery and had a metal plate fitted.

The mother-of-two told the publication: ”Sadly this is true. I suffered a nasty accident while playing in the sea with the family during our half-term holiday and subsequently broke my leg in two places.

“I had an operation on Friday and a metal plate was fitted.”

A spokesperson for Amanda said: “Despite this painful accident it’s business as usual for Amanda and she will return to Heart Breakfast on Monday 28th October.”
