Amanda Holden has reportedly dropped her stylist two years after one of her racy dresses became the most controversial television moment of 2017.

The Britain’s Got Talent judge, 48, is said to have replaced long-time stylist Angie Smith with new recruit Karl Willett in an unexpected fashion shake-up.

This comes after a daring Julien Macdonald gown she wore during the semi-final of BGT two years ago attracted a staggering 663 Ofcom complaints.

An insider told the Sun: ‘Amanda has decided to freshen up her wardrobe and her look for this year’s show but that doesn’t mean she’ll be any less sizzling.

‘She’s still going to shock audiences when she comes out on stage but possibly in a different way.

‘Amanda loves her fashion and dressing up is definitely part of the fun of the show.’

MailOnline has contacted representatives for Amanda for comment.

An outfit worn by Amanda in the Britain’s Got Talent semi-final in 2017 came under fire when furious viewers deemed it ‘inappropriate’.

The plunging floor-length dress was slashed to the navel, with a cut-out panel that reached down to the small of her back.

But despite the £11,000 ensemble causing hundreds of viewers to complain to Ofcom, the media regulator decided not to investigate.

Ofcom said that while it recognised the dress ‘had potential to offend some viewers during what is a family show’ – the outfit ‘would not have exceeded most viewers’ expectations’.

And this wasn’t the first time risque outfit choices on Britain’s Got Talent caused fans to lodge official complaints.

In 2016, Ofcom again decided not to investigate the ITV show after outfits worn by Holden and fellow judge Alesha Dixon sparked 90 complaints from viewers.

The fashion shake-up comes after Amanda ran the London Landmarks half marathon last week for Tommys.org – a charity that funds research into stillbirths, premature births and miscarriages.

Amanda, mother to Lexi, 13, and Hollie, seven with her husband Chris Hughes, is hoping to raise money to fund a full-time counsellor at Tommy’s Stillbirth Research Centre in Manchester through fundraisers such as the run.

The project, called Theo’s Hope, is named in memory of her son Theo, who was tragically born stillborn in 2011.

Speaking on ITV’s This Morning last autumn, the Britain’s Got Talent judge fought back tears as she recounted the day of Theo’s stillbirth: ‘I was watching Myleene [Klass] on Loose Women. She was pregnant with Hero at the time, who is the age Theo would have been.

‘I then thought, “God I haven’t felt him move for a while.” I had a bath, then a coffee, still nothing. I then got in the car and drove to hospital.

‘My lovely midwife, Jackie, told me she couldn’t find a heartbeat and that was the start of the horrible day. You have to then deliver this baby.

‘That’s why it’s different from a miscarriage. Giving birth and having a miscarriage are two very different things.’
