Amanda Holden breaks down in tears during Britain's Got Talent audition

Amanda Holden was left in tears during tonight’s episode of Britain’s Got Talent.

The outgoing TV babe fought to control her emotions after one hopeful used her audition to highlight the dog meat trade.

Around the globe thousands of dogs are slaughtered and kept in inhuman conditions to provide meat in countries where pooches are eaten.

Auditionee Amanda Leask appeared with her adorable rescue dog Miracle before playing a clip about how the pet pooch was found on the brink of death crammed in a cage.

As host Ant McPartlin sat on the floor with Miracle he was seen looking emotional before the camera cut to judges Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon, who were both in floods of tears.

Visibly upset, Amanda let tears fall down her cheeks as the clip continued.

Gushing over the performance, which saw Miracle seemingly tell the future, the Heart Breakfast radio presenter said: “I thought that was such a great act.

“We are all dog lovers on the panel.

“We applaud you not only for this act but for taking care and loving all these lost souls.”

Ant McPartlin was also emotional during the audition

Meanwhile, Alesha Dixon added: “I feel so proud to be on this show and that we can use this platform to raise awareness of something that is so important.”

Earlier this month Amanda released her debut single which, like tonight’s BGT act, brings attention to a worthy cause.

The 49-year-old recorded a cover of Somewhere Over The Rainbow to raise as much money as possible for NHS charities.

Speaking on Good Morning Britain, the starlet explained how the majority of the cash generated from the track will go direct to focusing on the mental health of NHS staff.

“We are looking after the mental health of a lot of our workers,” she explained.

“The money will go to help make ‘Wobble rooms’.

“Basically it is where NHS can go in and have a wobble and go out and face whatever they have to face.”
