Amanda Bynes has introduced her new fiancé and apologised for calling celebrities ugly in one fell swoop.

Last week, the 33-year-old stunned fans when she revealed she was engaged to a mystery man, who popped the question with a rather impressive diamond ring.

And now, The Amanda Show star has introduced her husband-to-be Paul to the world, while also issuing an apology for past insults she threw about online while battling drug addiction and mental illness.

Amanda – sporting a heart tattoo on her cheek and a septum piercing – posted a video to Instagram with her new boo, who was dressed in a red shirt, and wore thick rimmed glasses and a backwards baseball cap.

The actress said: ‘Hey everyone, this is Paul my fiancé’, with Paul quipping: ‘What’s up?’

Amanda continued: ‘I’m so lucky, as you can see he’s drop dead gorgeous.

‘He’s also the best person on the face of the earth.’

The She’s The Man star then turned her attention to incidents dating back to 2013, when she called a string of celebrities ugly, including Chrissy Teigen, RuPaul, Jay Z and Barack and Michelle Obama.

Perhaps the most vile insults came for Rihanna, with Bynes tweeting at the time: ‘Chris brown beat you because you’re not pretty enough…I met ur ugly face in person! U aren’t pretty u know it! [sic]’

Amanda said: ‘I just wanted to post a video to say I’m sorry to everyone who I called ugly on Twitter. I was feeling so ugly at the time and it was really hard for me to express myself at the time because I was so drugged out and now I’ve remained sober for over a year- same with Paul.

‘I just want to let you know that I love you guys and I’m so happy now. I feel like I got what’s mine and that is Paul.’

The Nickelodeon child star went from shows like All That and The Amanda Show to a successful movie career with films like Hairspray, Easy A and What A Girl Wants.

However, her career and reputation rapidly went downhill as she was arrested for drug possession, placed under conservatorship and became known for her often disturbing Twitter outbursts – including one incident where she accused her father of sexual abuse, which he immediately denied and Amanda later retracted.

Speaking to Paper magazine in late 2018, Amanda said: ‘I’m really ashamed and embarrassed with the things I said. I can’t turn back time but if I could, I would.

‘And I’m so sorry to whoever I hurt and whoever I lied about because it truly eats away at me. It makes me feel so horrible and sick to my stomach and sad…’

She warned anyone who was struggling with substance abuse to ‘be really careful’ before it takes a hold of your life, as she added: ‘I actually am a nice person. I would never feel, say or do any of the things that I did and said to the people I hurt on Twitter.’

The actress added: ‘Everybody is different, obviously, but for me, the mixture of marijuana and whatever other drugs and sometimes drinking really messed up my brain.

‘It really made me a completely different person.’

Amanda re-entered a sober living facility late last year, which she left in December, but sources denied she is using drugs again.
