The 42-year-old is the second cast member to be announced following Mark Feuerstein who will play her love interest on the show.

‘The themes of The Baby-Sitters Club still resonate 30 years after the original book series was released, and there has never been a more opportune time to tell an aspirational story about empowering young female entrepreneurs,’ Vice president of kids and family at Netflix, Melissa Cobb said during an interview with The Hollywood Reporter.

‘Together with Ann M. Martin and the team at Walden Media, our ambition is to contemporize the storylines and adventures of this iconic group of girlfriends to reflect modern-day issues.’

This reboot comes after the book was first released back in 1986 by Ann M. Martin.

This is a big role for the actress, who seems to have been selecting her roles wisely after having her son Bear, aged eight.

She recently opened up to Us Weekly about the relationship she has with her son.

‘I’ve never had to raise my voice to Bear,’ she said of her son’s attitude. ‘I can just say ‘no, thank you’ and we respect each other and listen to each other.’

‘A lot of it is the parenting, but a lot of it is the food,’ she revealed. ‘When your kid feels good, they act well.’

The plant-based mom says she attributes a vegan diet to her son’s good behavior.

‘He eats kale pretty much almost every day. And he eats bok choy, and he eats cabbage and he has brown rice and quinoa,’ she said of her son’s favorite foods.
