Alex Scott: 'Don’t be frustrated' Strictly star sends message to injured pro Neil Jones

Alex Scott, 35, will be dancing with Kevin Clifton, 37, tonight as her Strictly Come Dancing partner Neil Jones, 37, has found himself unable to perform again this week after suffering from a nasty injury. Neil was also ruled out of taking to the dance floor with Alex last weekend when he damaged his muscles during rehearsals just moments before Halloween week was set to kick off.

Although she will be dancing with another pro tonight, Alex still kept Neil in her thoughts as she dedicated a sweet message to him in view of her 237,000 followers.

The former Arsenal footballer encouraged the Ballroom and Latin dancer to not be “frustrated” by his setback in the competition.

She shared a picture of the pair beaming for the camera as they showed off their best moves on the street.

Alex added the caption: “From week one till now we keep smiling partner @Mr_NJones.

While speaking to host Zoe Ball about whether it was “strange” to dance with the 2018 champion rather than Neil, Alex admitted: “It’s so strange. Just the different movements and techniques.

“I’ve been with Neil for seven weeks now so it’s just natural. To get used to the different movements, it is strange.”

Zoe went on to ask the Strictly hopeful: “Have you rehearsed with Kevin today?”

Alex replied: “It has been a strange week for me. I think going back to Ballroom I’m nervous anyway

“The dance is just so fun. I think it’s putting it into perspective. I could sit here and moan about what happened.

“But poor Will [Bayley] doesn’t even get to dance. I still get to go out there and dance.”

The Strictly contestant referred to Will who sadly had to withdraw from the competition due to a leg injury earlier this week.

Zoe said in response: “We’re all a little bit jealous. You’ve not only got one partner but two.”

Strictly Come Dancing airs tonight on BBC One at 7pm.
