Alex Jones: The One Show presenter's ‘tense’ journey to BBC studio revealed

Alex Jones, 42, and Rylan Clark-Neal, 30, were joined by Hollywood star Danny DeVito, 74, on the sofa on Friday to discuss his new film, the live-action remake of Dumbo.

On the BBC One programme, the movie star spoke about his role in the Disney movie where Dumbo was created by CGI.

When the actor explained how the elephant had been brought to life, pregnant Alex was seemingly left horrified.

Danny said: “There’s this guy, Ed, that did the elephant. He’s in a suit, he’s a little guy. He puts these extensions on…”

Appearing shocked at the revelation, Alex cut in and asked: “Hang on a minute! There’s a man in the suit?

The star held her hands to her face and admitted: “Oh I can’t cope, I can’t cope,” as Rylan reached over to comfort her.

“You’ve done her now,” Rylan jested.

Danny looked confused as he questioned: “Is that too scary?”

Laughing, Rylan said: “As we left the cinema earlier Alex turned round to me and said, ‘Do you think I can get a Dumbo somewhere?’

“Genuine, genuine question.”

Rylan said after watching the film, Alex acted very differently as he added: “And honestly the drive to the studio was a bit tense.”

Alex explained: “I thought it was so lovely. I can’t bear that someone was inside.”

“You didn’t see that guy in the movie,” Danny said.

“You saw the CGI version, so he’s doing all the movements of the elephant.”

After the episode, Alex shared a photo of Rylan and Danny to her Instagram account.

The studio snap saw them both pose to the camera with their arms folded as they displayed the incredible height difference.

Alex addressed the noticeable difference as Rylan stands over six foot whilst Danny is four foot 10 inches.

She captioned the post: “I couldn’t get all of @rylan in the same shot as Danny. A fabulous co host and a wonderful guest.”

“What an end to the week. #twinsremake.”

Her 147,000 followers loved Alex presenting with Rylan with one person commenting on her post: “Brilliant, love to have Rylan on every Friday x.”

Another said: “@Rylan was an amazing co host, what a genuine natural nice guy who seemed interested & great to watch- it was lovely to see you both.”

The One Show airs weekdays on BBC One at 7pm.
