Alex Jones, 42, couldn’t hold back her emotions on Shop Well for Less as she spoke to mum Antonietta about her eldest child, daughter Ellis.
Antonietta had explained in the episode her daughter gets bullied in school, and she tries to make her happier with expensive purchases.
As they spoke about her finances as a single mum-of-three, Alex broke down in tears.
Antonietta told Alex, who presents the show with Steph McGovern: “I do find it hard to not spend on my children, particularly, Ellis, with everything she’s going through I just want her to be happy.”
The mum got choked up speaking abut her daughter as she continued: “She gets called fat and ugly.
“It’s starting to get a little bit better but she’s had it since year seven and now she’s in year 10.”
“If she doesn’t have the right brand, people think oh you can’t afford it, your mums’s single,” Antonietta added. “She used to come out crying, but she just wants to go to school, get her head down and get a good job.”
She said: “If I can buy her some make-up, clothes, see her face light up and not always be down in the dumps, Ii will do that to her.”
Alex then pulled out a bag full of dressing gowns, moisturiser and face masks for Antonietta to use to spend quality time with Ellis.
“Take that with you have a day spa at the house,” Alex beamed.
“You two relax have a chat, just the pair of you, no pressure, that could work,” The One Show favourite said.
Making sure it hit home, Alex added: “You can’t go on spending money like this.”
Antonietta broke down as she thanked Alex, who also couldn’t hold back the tears and went in to hug her.
Earlier in the week, Alex shared an adorable picture of her dad holding baby Kit on holiday.
The little one couldn’t have looked any cuter as he stuck his tongue out and smiled, whilst wearing a pair of tiny round-framed sunglasses.
“Dad & Kit,” Alex captioned the black-and-white photo.
Many of Alex’s 183,000 Instagram followers couldn’t help put post gushing compliments about her youngest son.
Great British Bake Off star, Candice Brown, said: ”I can’t deal with how cute this is.”
“Looks like a teeny Elton John,” said one person.
Another wrote: “Brilliant photo, such a happy baby.”
