Aldi’s new salted caramel liqueur tastes just like Biscoff

Due to a certain caterpillar, everybody’s been talking about Aldi over the past week.

But now there’s another reason the supermarket is on everyone’s lips.

The retailer has brought out a new salted caramel liqueur that tastes like one of the nation’s favourite biscuit brands – Lotus Biscoff.

Perfect on its own on the rocks or as part of a cocktail, the new Infusionist Salted Caramel Cupcake Gin Liqueur is ideal for sweet tooths and will no doubt go down a treat at summer garden parties.

It could also be added to an espresso martini for a little twist.

The £8.99 drink is described as having ‘rich and creamy smooth notes of delicious caramel’ and you can find it in store and online from tomorrow, April 22.

It comes as part of the supermarket’s new Spirits Festival – just in time for the big May bank holiday.

It’s clear that Aldi has tapped into a national sweet spot.

According to Grocer Trader, recent retail data shows that the UK’s most popular biscuit is Lotus Biscoff – with over 791,000 searches online during lockdown.

And with homemade recipes constantly popping up – from Biscoff blondies to Biscoff cake – we’re fully expecting Aldi’s new beverage to be a crowd-pleaser.

If caramel isn’t your flavour of choice, M&S has some new fruity gin liqueurs that are perfect for picnic season. They come in two different flavours: Blackberry & Elderflower and Passion Fruit & Vanilla.

The supermarket has also brought back the popular gin glitter globe in a new cherry blossom flavour for spring.

What’s more, gin lovers can now get Tanqueray in pre-mixed can form – ideal for park meet-ups and being on-the-go this summer. Pick from either a classic G&T or a Seville orange variety – both sound equally refreshing to us.
