Aldi’s sell out electric throw is back for 2020, after proving popular last winter.

While heated blankets are nothing new, they usually go over your mattress like a bed sheet.

But this one is a throw blanket, so you can use it on the sofa, or discreetly across your lap as you work from home.

In 2019, people loved the blanket so Aldi has brought it back in three colours – grey, black or cream.

The fleecy cover has built in heated elements and nine temperature settings so you are sure to stay snug. There is even pockets for your legs and feet to make sure they don’t get chilly.

It costs around 2p per hour to run, so a great alternative to having the heating on all the time.

There’s also nine timer settings so you can decide how long to keep it on for. If you’re worried about safety, there is automatic overheating protection so it will shut off it if it gets too hot.

You can also remove the electric cord and stick the whole thing in the wash if it gets grubby.

It measures 120cm by 160cm, so it’s big enough to cover a double bed.

You can pick them up elsewhere but this one is well priced. One of the cheapest on Amazon is this one for £1 more, but most are over £40.

The description on the Aldi website says: ‘Keep toasty and comfortable on colder evenings with this Kirkton House Heated Electric Blanket.

‘This stylish double layer soft flannel fleece heated blanket looks as good as it feels, and can even be turned into a sleeping bag.

‘With nine temperature levels with overheat protection to suit your needs, whether you are relaxing for the evening with a good book or snuggling down on a sofa with a classic film, this heated throw is just what you need.’

The blanket is available to pre-order online now, and will be available in store from 22 November.
