The supermarket is selling each base, which is enough for one pizza, for 85p.

As the base is already made for you, you just need to add your own sauce, cheese and toppings before cooking.

It means you can make your own pizza for as much money, or as little, as you like, depending on choice of toppings.

To make a pizza, start by spreading the base with a choice of tomato or BBQ sauce, followed by a sprinkling of mozzarella cheese, then vegetables or meat.

You’ll then need to cook your pizza in the oven.

As its name suggests, stone baked bread is cooked on a hot, flat stone to give a crispier finish.

Sourdough is a bread made from the natural occurring yeast and bacteria in flour.

The bases were spotted by eagle-eye Aldi shopper Joey Tamburello, who posted about his find on the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK Facebook group.

His post has since been liked more than 3,300 times by fellow bargain hunters.

If you’re a keen baker, you may be able to make your own pizza dough cheaper if you’ve already got the ingredients in your cupboard.

We’d recommend checking a recipe online, although usually you’ll need flour, yeast, olive oil, salt and caster sugar.

It’s also worth shopping around if you need more than one base.

Tesco sells a pack of two ready-made sourdough pizza bases for £1.20, which works out at 60p each, or 25p cheaper than Aldi.

Asda also came up cheaper with its two-pack pizza bases for £1.30, which is the same as 65p each, or 20p better than Aldi.

We’ve asked Aldi for more information about its new pizza bases, such as sizing and cooking instructions, and we’ll update this article when we know more.

The Sun is also checking if the pizza bases are available in all stores.

In the meantime, check the Aldi online shop finder to check in with your local branch.

Aldi has around 650 shops in the UK.

Aldi recently sold stainless steel pizza oven for your garden – but it costs £500.

Or you can nab a pizza maker for £29.99 at the discounter – and you can use it to make toasties too.
