ALDI has released details of its new boozy Easter egg collection and it includes gin and Prosecco infused chocolate.
The gin Easter egg is made from white chocolate and contains a helping of Aldi’s own Greyson’s pink gin.
If you’re more into your fizz, the Prosecco egg is made out of milk chocolate and is infused with the supermarket’s Prosecco Superiore DOCG and raspberry.
Both eggs are made from Moser Roth chocolate, a German brand stocked only in the UK by Aldi, and are priced at £4.99 each.
This is a staggering £8 cheaper than the Lidl equivalent from last year, which contained both gin and Prosecco in one egg.
They’re both available now until at least Easter day, which falls on Sunday, 12 April, this year.
We’ve asked Aldi how much booze is in each egg, as well as the relevant calorie information and sizing, and we’ll update this article when we know more.
Greyson’s pink gin typically has an alcohol by volume content of 37.5 per cent and cost £12.99 for a 70cl bottle when it was released just before Christmas.
The ABV for the Prosecco is 11 per cent and this costs £7.49 for a 75cl bottle.
Some stores have still yet to reveal their Easter egg range for this year, but Aldi’s is the cheapest we’ve found so far for boozy chocolate.
For example, an Edinburgh Gin Easter egg at John Lewis costs £13, more than double the price of Aldi.
Also new to Aldi this year is a giant 800g Moser Roth Ostrich Egg, which is a white chocolate egg with caramel flavouring.
There’s also another 800g egg in the form of the Moser Roth Dragon Egg, designed with a decorative ombre effect of bright russet to deep copper.
These won’t be in stores until 15 March.
None of the Easter eggs from this year’s range will be available to buy online, meaning you’ll need to visit your nearest Aldi to get your fill.
Aldi has around 830 shops in the UK and you can find your nearest one by using the online store finder.
