Aldi is selling a wood burner lantern for Christmas

ALDI is selling a battery-driven wood burner lantern – perfect if you don’t have a real fireplace or to place next to it.

It comes with a flame effect looking like a real fire, so you can feel cosy as temperatures drop before Christmas.

It’s best used indoors in any lounge or porch, and can be controlled with a timer.

The lantern measures 16cm x 14cm x 27cm and comes with a three-year guarantee in case anything happens to it.

They’re available for £9.99 each on Aldi’s website and in stores. You can find your nearest one using its store locator tool.

Just keep in mind that as they’re part of the discounter’s Specialbuys, they’re only available as long as stocks last so you’ll need to be quick.

The lanterns were spotted be a shopper in the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK group on Facebook, who shared her finds with fellow bargain hunters.

One user tagged her friend and asked: “Shall we get one of these until we can afford a proper fireplace?”

While another added: “These look nice by the fire for Xmas.”

Aldi is offering among the cheapest prices we could find, as Studio is selling one in a similar size for the same £9.99 price tag.

Shoppers at Argos will have to fork out more than double for its fireplace lanterns, as the retailer’s prices start from £25.

If you’re struggling to stay warm during the winter, you’ll want to check out body length hot water bottles up for grabs at Poundstretcher.

While cat owners might want to pop by Aldi for its radiator beds for the furry friends.

Earlier this week, the discounter launched a free online wine course to help baffled shoppers pick up the best booze.
