Good Housekeeping tested 182 products across 12 categories.

Angela Trofymova, head of food testing at the Good Housekeeping Institute, said: “We love doing these taste tests, and are always keen to share the results with consumers, so they know which amazing products are worth their hard earned cash.

“Obviously this year, the situation is sadly very different, as we can’t dash between supermarkets as we’re used to – or even get to a supermarket if we’re isolating.

“Nonetheless, we hope the results give some guidance for those looking to host a BBQ for their household this May Bank Holiday weekend – and most importantly, we hope everyone stays safe and well.”

Aldi also came out top in the 2019 BBQ taste test by Good Housekeeping, where it was praised for its Masala & Roast Cauliflower Vegan Sausages, The Deli Masala Roast Cauliflower Sausages and, again, its Slow Cooked Smoky BBQ Pork Ribs.

It also took runner up spots for its Specially Selected Moroccan Style Mini Pork Sausages and Peri Peri Chicken King Kebab, which won this year.
