Alan Carr jokes about Adele rejecting his request to stay at her LA home

Alan Carr says a recent trip to LA saw him snubbed by poster friend Adele who suggested he stay at a hotel rather than stay with her.

The 44-year-old comedian has a long-established friendship with 33-year-old music sensation Adele – with the singer even getting ordained so she could officiate over Alan’s wedding to husband Paul Drayton.

Speaking about their continued friendship, Alan has laughed about his latest trip to see Adele in LA – where the star is said to own a multi-million pound mansion.

But rather than offer Alan a bed to sleep in at her home, the singer told the Chatty Man star to check in to a nearby hotel, the Petit Ermitage in West Hollywood.

Alan revealed all in his Alan’s Life’s a Beach podcast while in conversation with 27-year-old Sound Of Metal actress Olivia Cooke.

He said: “I was hoping to stay at Adele’s house, but she went ‘Why don’t you stay at this hotel?’

“And I looked at the website and it looked weird.

Adele allegedly asked Alan to stay at a nearby hotel instead

“There was a massive Jack of clubs, there was a chess piece. It was like, ‘this feels a bit odd’. But I know it’s amazing.”

Chuckling at the scenario, Olivia added: “Your like, ‘Come on babe, you’ve got enough rooms’.”

Back in 2018, Alan tied-the-knot with party planner and actor Paul Drayton.

Adele presided over the event as she married the two men.

Alan said in an interview following his big day: “She’s known me and Paul for ages, and she said, ‘I want to do your special day. Let me do everything.’

“So she did everything, and she got ordained, and she married us. She is the kindest, most sweetest, loveliest person ever.”

While Adele herself took to social media to express at her delight, writing on Instagram : “I married two of my best friends in January.”
