Andre Onana wants to leave Ajax in the summer and Chelsea is the goalkeeper’s No.1 choice, according to reports.

Manchester United reportedly made an offer for Onana during the summer amid concerns about David de Gea’s long-term future at the club.

The Daily Mail claim Onana has decided he wants leave Ajax and is eager to move to the Premier League, although he favours a move to London.

Tottenham is on the goalkeeper’s radar, but Chelsea is Onana’s preferred option.

Barcelona, however, have held talks with Onana over a return to Spain. The 23-year-old left the Catalan club to join Ajax’s youth ranks in 2016.

Onana was eventually promoted to Ajax’s first team and has made almost 200 appearances for the Dutch side.

Ajax could demand as much as £50million for Onana, who sees Tottenham as a possibility considering Hugo Lloris turns 34 this year.

Chelsea are considering replacing their No.1 stopper Kepa Arrizabalaga after Frank Lampard dropped the Spaniard for the defeat to Leicester City.

The Blues have been linked with Burnley’s Nick Pope, but are wary of offloading Arrizabalaga considering the £72m transfer fee they shelled out on the goalkeeper in 2018.

Lampard has reportedly told Chelsea to sell Arrizabalaga and has identified Pope, Lille Mike Maignan and Crystal Palace’s Vicente Guaita as possible replacements.

But Onana’s decision could prompt Chelsea to make a move for the shot stopper, whose contract at Ajax runs until 2022.

Ajax would be keen to sell Onana to Barcelona to maintain the excellent relationship they already enjoy with the Spanish giants.
