AJ Pritchard: Strictly Come Dancing pro left 'gutted' after announcing regretful news


Strictly Come Dancing favourite AJ Pritchard, 25, recently embarked on a nationwide dance tour alongside his Love Island star brother Curtis Pritchard, 24. The dancing duo were geared up to wow audiences in their stage production of AJ Live 2020.

The Strictly professional has since taken to Twitter and revealed the show will be postponed following the government’s advice of social distancing amid the global coronavirus pandemic.

In view of his 134,000 Twitter followers, AJ posted a joint statement which began: “This is a message to all of our amazing fans and specifically those who have tickets to our remaining AJ Live Tour dates.

“Given today’s government advice surrounding the coronavirus, we are postponing our remaining four shows.

“Those locations are Guildford (17 March), Cardiff (18 March), Bournemouth (20 March) and Torquay (21 March).”

One person commented: “Stay safe. So sorry this had to happen but can’t wait for the rescheduled dates and hopefully will be able to come support.”

Another social media user tweeted: “Absolutely gutted but health and safety definitely comes first. Look forward to the rescheduled dates more now than ever.”

“Loved seeing the show in Liverpool and gutted for you that you’ve had to take this step. Stay safe and healthy guys,” a third person remarked.

Former Strictly professional Chloe Hewitt also shared a message on Twitter following AJ’s announcement.

The dancer who first appeared on Strictly in 2016, had also joined the Pritchard brothers on their tour.

In view of her 51,000 Instagram, the brunette beauty shared a snap of herself stood between AJ and Curtis.

She wrote: “So Gutted to Be Leaving This Tour at Sudden Notice but so Thankful to Have Been Able to Share the Stage With This Amazing Pair …Until Next Time.”(sic)

Chloe appeared on Strictly for two years before she exited the programme in 2018.

AJ was forced to call off the remaining dates of his dance tour after Prime Minister Boris Johnson shut down mass gatherings following the coronavirus.

The global virus is continuing to surge with a reported 1543 cases in the UK alone.

A further 14 people, who tested positive for the coronavirus have now died, bringing the total number of confirmed deaths to 67, NHS England has said.

The patients were aged between 93 and 45 years old and had other underlying health conditions.
