AJ Pritchard: Mollie King 'issues advice' to Strictly Come Dancing pro’s new partner

Strictly Come Dancing professional AJ Pritchard, 24, danced with Mollie King, 32, on the show in 2017.

The pair’s efforts got them to the semi-final round of the show, which was later won by Joe McFadden, 43, and Katya Jones, 30.

Mollie revealed the advice she would like to give to AJ’s new dance partner if he gets paired with a celebrity next month.

She said: “Obviously I’m biased because I only had AJ as my partner, but he’s such an amazing partner and very encouraging.

“[I’d tell them] to just trust him as he knows what he’s doing.

“He made me improve so much. I was so wooden at the start, he really helped me and put in so much time.”

Mollie went on to say her and AJ “broke the record” for the most amount of hours in training.

“That’s a commitment,” she added. “So yeah, just go into it and enjoy it. It’s an experience you won’t do twice, so lap it up.

“I’m excited to see who he gets paired up with.”

It is currently unknown which professional dancers will be partnered up with celebrities.

However, since AJ joined the show in 2016, he has competed for the Glitterball trophy each year.

This series, Mollie’s BBC Radio 1 co-star Dev Griffin, 34, will be taking to the dance floor.

Mollie admitted she has given advice to her colleague, but insisted he doesn’t need it as he’s “got moves”.

She added: “I see Dev all the time. I’m so excited for him, he’s going to be really good.

“I was like, ‘Dev, you’ve got to go all the way here’.

“I think he’s got moves,” she added. “I’ve seen him bopping along in the studio, so I think he could do really well.”

Elsewhere, Mollie was recently appointed as a patron for the Born Free foundation.

Born Free are an international wildlife charity that campaigns to keep wildlife in the wild in a bid to help stop animal cruelty.

She said: “There’s still so much money that needs to be raised to help these suffering animals, so I’m helping to spread to the word.

“I always want to put my vote to good causes and, with this, there was no way I couldn’t be involved.

“What Born Free does is so amazing, I feel like I am the lucky one.”
