AJ Pritchard: ‘I fluffed it’ Strictly pro suffers big mishap amid move away from BBC show

AJ Pritchard, 25, embarked on his third show day as part of the cast of Peter Pan in Grove Theatre’s pantomime. The Strictly Come Dancing professional announced he would be making the move into acting and away from the BBC show earlier this year and revealed he was “super excited” to take on the lead role in the production.

However, it seems AJ has encountered his first problem in his venture into theatre after “fluffing” his lines on stage.

Speaking about the unfortunate mishap in view of his 675,000 Instagram followers, the Ballroom and Latin dancer said backstage: “Guys, it’s the third show and I just fluffed it.”

AJ’s girlfriend Abbie Quinnen, who is also part of the cast, then appeared in the background of the clip in costume to wave, as he told her: “See you out there!”

After Abbie left, AJ continued to explain the mistake he made, adding: “I was like, ‘It’s all well and good but we need to rescue the lost boys. Three of you go that way and I’ll go this way and we’ll meet on board the Jolly Rodger’.”

Fans took to the comments section to wish the duo luck ahead of their busy day of performing.

One person wrote: “You look like you’re in your absolute element.”

“You’re smashing it!! Good luck for the last show today,” another fan gushed.

Elsewhere, Abbie hit back at AJ for “ruining” her surprise plans for him.

She decided to give the dancer a shock by purchasing his new calendar and hanging it up on the wall for when he returned home.

However, in spite of all the anticipation, AJ failed to notice Abbie’s surprise, as she exclaimed: “I was waiting this whole time for you to come home!”

“I’m tired,” he admitted, trying to explain why he didn’t spot the gesture.

Unfortunately, Abbie seemed less than impressed, as she hit back: “Rubbish you ruined it, I thought I was so funny!”
